David accepted the call and began serving as Pastor of Christ Baptist Church in June 2015. Before his tenure as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Divinity at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School (2011-2015), David had been a charter member of Christ Baptist Church and served here as Associate Pastor and Elder. He has extensive teaching and preaching experience at seminaries, universities and other venues in Ireland, Scotland, Canada, England, the Czech Republic, and the United States. Dr. Hogg is an international lecturer, frequent conference speaker, and published author (Anselm of Canterbury: The Beauty of Theology, and other works on medieval spirituality and various doctrines in historical perspective).
Andy started following Jesus at the age of nine and felt God’s call to ministry at seventeen. Since 2001 he has served in youth, children, and music ministry roles in the local church. He and his wife Heather were married in 2003, and they have two children, Ethan and Chloe. Andy joined the staff of Christ Baptist in August of 2010 as Minister of Youth. He received his bachelor’s degree in youth ministry from Toccoa Falls College in 2005 and is currently working on a Master’s degree in biblical studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his free time, Andy enjoys camping, fishing, biking and pretty much anything else outdoors.
Kim graduated in 1995 from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in Christian Education and has served churches in Corpus Christi, Texas and Norcross, Georgia before returning home to Raleigh. Kim has two sons, a daughter, and two grandchildren. He enjoys swimming and building projects at home, and he and his wife Sandra enjoy escaping to the NC coast every chance they get.
Mark graduated in 1983 from North Carolina State University with a degree in Computer Science and is pursuing a Master of Biblical Counseling degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mark spent 32+ years working as a senior software manager at IBM and has served as our Director of Care Ministries since 2008. He and his wife Cindy also serve as DivorceCare and Single & Parenting facilitators. Mark is a Raleigh native and has a son and daughter, both of whom are married.
Aaron joined the Christ Baptist staff in September 2008. As the Minister of Music and Worship, he oversees a comprehensive music ministry which includes both choral and instrumental ensembles. In addition to ministry responsibilities, Aaron serves as an adjunct professor of music at Campbell University and appears regularly as a guest choral clinician and adjudicator. He also holds leadership roles in both North Carolina and Southern Division American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
Aaron holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master of Church Music degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts from Campbell University.
Luke is a recent graduate of the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been active in church life for the majority of his life, being steadily taught the Word from a young age by his local AWANA ministries and Bible Study Fellowship's children's programs. His family spent eight years overseas training Christians to study the Bible. God used this time abroad to reorient his focus on heavenly things, which led him to attend Bible College and join the staff of Christ Baptist in January 2017.
