David accepted the call and began serving as Pastor of Christ Baptist Church in June 2015. Before his tenure as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Divinity at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School (2011-2015), David had been a charter member of Christ Baptist Church and served here as Associate Pastor and Elder. He has extensive teaching and preaching experience at seminaries, universities and other venues in Ireland, Scotland, Canada, England, the Czech Republic, and the United States. Dr. Hogg is an international lecturer, frequent conference speaker, and published author (Anselm of Canterbury: The Beauty of Theology, and other works on medieval spirituality and various doctrines in historical perspective).
Jeff started following Jesus at the age of nine and felt God’s call to ministry at eighteen. Jeff has served in different roles in youth ministry since 2002. He and his wife Michelle were married in 2003, and they have four children, John Robert, Grant, Cooper, and Carah Beth. Jeff joined the staff of Christ Baptist in June of 2018 and is a graduate of The University of Mobile and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his free time, Jeff enjoys reading, going for a run, playing guitar, and playing golf. One of his favorite verses is Philippians 3:20, "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."
Kim graduated in 1995 from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in Christian Education and has served churches in Corpus Christi, Texas and Norcross, Georgia before returning home to Raleigh. Kim has two sons, a daughter, and two grandchildren. He enjoys swimming and building projects at home, and he and his wife Sandra enjoy escaping to the NC coast every chance they get.
Mark graduated in 1983 from North Carolina State University with a degree in Computer Science and is pursuing a Master of Biblical Counseling degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mark spent 32+ years working as a senior software manager at IBM and has served as our Director of Care Ministries since 2008. He and his wife Cindy also serve as DivorceCare and Single & Parenting facilitators. Mark is a Raleigh native and has a son and daughter, both of whom are married.
Aaron joined the Christ Baptist staff in September 2008. As the Minister of Music and Worship, he oversees a comprehensive music ministry which includes both choral and instrumental ensembles. In addition to ministry responsibilities, Aaron serves as an adjunct professor of music at Campbell University and appears regularly as a guest choral clinician and adjudicator. He also holds leadership roles in both North Carolina and Southern Division American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
Aaron holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master of Church Music degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts from Campbell University.
Luke is a recent graduate of the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been active in church life for the majority of his life, steadily taught the Word from a young age by his local AWANA ministries and Bible Study Fellowship's children's programs. His family spent eight years overseas training Christians to study the Bible. God used this time abroad to reorient his focus on heavenly things, which led him to attend Bible College and join the staff of Christ Baptist in January 2017. His wife, Phida, is from India.
Jonathan was blessed to be raised in God-fearing family, where he came to know and love the Lord at a young age. He grew up helping his father renovate their home, gaining experience in all the trades. Jonathan came to the College at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2012 where he met his wife, Laura. They were married in 2014 and have a son, Jackson. Jonathan joined the staff at Christ Baptist in July 2018. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys renovating his own home, hunting, and fishing.
Jamie had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home, and at the age of 16, he gave his heart to Jesus. He has served in various churches in Virginia as a pastor, through AWANA, children’s church, teaching adults and children, and mentoring youth. A member of Christ Baptist since 2012, Jamie has been an active leader in children’s ministry since 2015, and endeavors in his service here to labor until Christ is formed in those to whom he ministers (Galatians 4:19). Jamie’s family includes his wife, Daryl, and three beautiful children: Abby, Addyson, and Samson.
Nathan grew up in East Tennessee. He met Devon at Wheaton College, and they were married in July of 2001. They have five children: Kendra, Carson, Bryan, Brielle, and Gavin. In 2005 Nathan planted Christ Church Knoxville, Tn. He labored in his hometown until receiving the call, in the summer of 2018, to serve Christ Baptist Church. Nathan’s focus here is to serve the many ways Christ Baptist is growing and sending. As a congregation, we are growing in our likeness of Christ and we are sending long- and short-term teams to spread the fame of His name among the nations. Nathan earned his PhD in Biblical Spirituality and Church History from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2018. He also holds a ThM (Historical Theology) from SBTS, an MDiv from the King’s Seminary, and an MA in Theological Studies from Nazarene Theological Seminary.
