Christ Baptist Family,
I hope this message finds you resting in the refuge and strength of our heavenly Father’s presence. If, however, you find that you are facing challenges that threaten to overcome you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. The church offices are still open, the elders stand ready to do what they can to provide help, and the staff have already been involved in organizing help to those in need. Your physical as well as spiritual wellbeing remain our foremost concern.
As we turn our attention to what it will mean for us to continue as a worshiping community in the coming weeks, the elders have decided, in light of the current state of affairs in our nation and uncertainty about how long this health crisis will last, Sunday morning worship will be held only via live stream until further notice. You should be able to connect to the live stream through our web site as you normally do and, starting this Sunday, we look forward to adding additional elements including other elders leading in prayer and Aaron providing live music.
Last Sunday, some of you had trouble maintaining a connection to our live stream. While some of the reasons for that remain beyond our control (e.g. the speed of a home internet connection), we are working to do all we can to continue to provide a stable connection.
As far as returning to our normal practice of gathering together for worship, please be assured that the elders are in regular communication about when the earliest possible date might be for us to meet in person again. While we desire to safeguard the health of our membership, we also desire to tend to the hearts and souls of our people. Please continue to pray for wisdom.
Finally, as we continue to adjust to the these unusual circumstances, I have decided that, starting Monday, I will begin posting brief videos or written blog posts on a daily basis in an effort to provide constant encouragement and reassurance from God’s Word. While these will be short posts, I pray they will be a source of consolation and spiritual growth.
