As Disciples of Jesus Christ, God gives us individual spiritual gifts to fulfill His purposes in our lives and the church as we build each other up and see lives changed. As we experience God's love, we want to share our gifts with others! 

Paul in the scriptures explains clearly the purpose of spiritual gifts in Ephesians 4:12-15:  So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and the teachers till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect [complete] man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight [fraud] of men, and cunning craftiness, where by they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

Every member has at least one Spirit-given gift but usually two or three. No member has all the gifts, so we need each other to carry out God's desired purpose for the church.
